A study of Stress and the greater risk of CHD

Rosengren et al  (1991)

They studied the health of several thousand men over a number of years, none of whom had experienced a heart attack. It was found that those who assessed themselves as experiencing the highest levels of stress at the start of the study were more likely to have had a heart attack after an average of 11 years. The study controlled for risk factors such as age and lifestyle, it seems that this study demonstrates a clear link between stress and cardiovascular disease.

This study influenced my advert because I felt that stress would need to play some part in my advert because of the affect it can have on the heart and as the research suggests it could lead to a heart attack which is what my PSB is focused around. Also the study is concentrated on men as there sample as many other studies and adverts do; this is because men are more likely to suffer a heart attack. I will also design a questionnaire in order to measure the general stressors envovled in modern day lifestyles, this will allow me to gage which stressors I should include in my advert.
